This is a beautiful lushly treed state park with numerous walking trails which are well documented. The bird life is very plentiful and waking in the morning to birdsong is heavenly. I selected Skidaway Island State Park STRICTLY because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews I had read on TripAdvisor. We were at Skidaway State Park July 28th through the 31st 2007. The sites were very large and very clean. As I enjoyed a morning cup of coffee I watched the deer grazing only yards away. On the third night we had 5 inches of rain in 3 hours and as the water rose to meet the bottom step of... more

My wife and I visited Skidaway State Park recently and had a wonderful time. We just went to walk the trails and enjoy the day. The trails are easy and full of things to see, including Confederate earthworks and an observation tower. Enjoy the outdoors and plan a visit to Skidaway. more

This is one of the best state parks we've been to.Facilities were excellent ,very quiet(and there were kids playing) nice wooded and private areas,no crowding.If you are looking to visit Savannah ,and need a place to camp,Skidaway would be a good bet. more

Skidaway is a terrific place to camp. The sites are spacious, clean and even feature cable TV hookups. Twice when we arrived we found deer wandering through the campsites. The park is very near Savannah which has lots to see and do. The park personnel are very helpful. The only drawback is that a strong rain can flood the area... more

I spent two years in the Savannah area and my favorite place to visit was Skidaway Island. They have two main trails to walk and one to bike on at the park.
