I've visited twice, once in the summer and once in the winter. Pretty unique to see. Actually, I was colder in the summer. I couldn't wait to get out.

A Very unique site that you must see if you are in the area. Make sure to bundle up because it is cold inside but something you will remember. Entertaining for the whole family.
Hard to believe that everything is made of ice. It is part of the Chena Hot Springs Resort. So, take them both in.
Signed up for ice musuem tour at Chena Hot Springs: $15 pp + $15 for appletini.
Entered building with group of about 30 people...but plenty of room. Guide described ice sculptures, ice bar, ice chandeliers, ice hotel rooms, igloo, etc. All are lit with colored fiber optic thingy's...so they make a dramatic photo. Plenty of time to wander around, take...

It may seem a long drive out to the hot springs, but once you are there, you have to go to the ice museum at least once. It is hard to describe, but the carvings are remarkable and a must see once in your life.
There are two Ice Museums in Fairbanks, AK and they are very different from each other. The Ice Hotel/Museum at Chena Hot Spring Resort is a great destination point. The pieces they have on display there are beautiful. It was interesting to see the artist do a live demo on doing an art piece. They do have a freezer you...

I visited the Ice Museum on a hot day around June 24th 2011. You have the option of paying an extra $15.00 for an ice martini when you sign up for the tour. I skipped this and did not regret it. You enter a building which looks like a church. The front foyer room is full of warm parkas that...

High price tickets to see ice sculptures mostly behind glass. Fairbanks is a boring destination if you stay in the city in may--we were there 3 days--two days too many.
