This lake is a beautiful gem to see - whether you hike to the overlook or all the way down to the shore.

This lake is a beautiful gem to see - whether you hike to the overlook or all the way down to the shore.
The vistas from the lookout are still and look a picture frame...there is absolutely no movement anywhere, so peaceful. The color of the lakes in the valley is prisstine blue from the glaciers. This sight like other vistas you will see in the park are like no other place or sight you will see anywhere else. We couldn't go to...

If you like to see ground squirel, pika, chipmunk, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, golden eagles and a lot of alpine flowers; go EARLY MORNING before the crowd arrives!
As part of our 7 night Glacier/Waterton trip we hiked Hidden Lake. We arrived at the Logan Pass Visitor Center (where the trailhead is) about 4:45 in the evening. The parking lot was only about 10% full at that time. The trail to the overlook is 3 miles roundtrip. The trip to the lake itself is another 3 miles roundtrip....

Hike is about 3 miles round trip and starts at the Logan Pass Visitor Center heading west. Grand scenery and a lot of possible wildlife sightings ... mountain goats for sure, badgers, bighorns, etc. Panoramic views the whole way to and from the overlook of Hidden Lake. A must hike for all. Hiked with young children and seniors ... expect...

Only a mile and a half to the overlook. The trailhead is directly behind the Logan Pass visitors center. Get there before 9 if you want a parking spot without a wait. Get there before 8 if you want any solitude... It's popular and crowded. You can beat the crowds if you get there early. No water at Logan's Pass......

This is a fairly easy walk up to the lake. There is a ton of wildlife here.
We watched 4 goats walk between about 8 hikers. They could of cared less. They were building a new walkway to the outlook so we didn't have the perfect view but it was amazing none the less. The meadows up to the lake...

We hiked to the overlook on 7/20 and the entire trail was snowcovered from beginning to end. A storm blew in about halfway, and we were hailed and sleeted upon and a cloud surrounded us to the point that we could not see 3' from where we stood. Sort of scary. It was a hard uphill climb in the snow...

After a week in Glacier, this one of my favorite hikes. The trail starts behind the visitor center at Logan Pass, the first part of the trail is all on a boardwalk but is not wheelchair friendly because of the steep steps throughout the boardwalk that goes uphill. Once we reached the end of the boardwalk we were in snow....

We hiked five trails during our trip to Glacier, and the Hidden Lake trail was our favorite by far! We did the entire trail (all the way down to the lake), which was about 5 miles roundtrip. If you're looking to see wildlife, especially mountain goats, this is the trail to take! We saw about 20 mountain goats during our...
