Its good experience in backwaters, however the water are not kept cean. More should be done so that people do not throw the rubbish in the water and assist in clean environment.
i recently stayed overnight on a houseboat on the back waters and must say it was the highlight of our holiday. We travelled up from Kovalam so it was about a 4 hour drive to get there but it was well worth it. It is very relaxing and a good way to see the local communities going about their business.... More
I've been wanting to take a houseboat trip since a previous visit to Kerala, when we took a half day trip on the backwaters, and this one didn't disappoint. It had been organised through an agency so I didn't choose the company - the one the agency used was Rainbow cruises. I had chosen a Deluxe houseboat - main difference... More
Kerala, a land of multiple attractions, is known for the presence of many ancient temples in it. I had read many horror stories from people who had experienced really bad houseboats, so after careful research we decided on Amruntham Houseboats since they seemed to have the most positive reviews. We were not disappointed - from the first contact with Maneesh 8 months prior, to him meeting us as planned... More

We did a canoe trip which took nearly 5 hours and we were nearly asleep before the halfway point. The benefit of the canoe is that is can go down the smaller canals that the house-boats and similar... More
My husband and I decided to take a backwaters tour in Allepey since we were told that it was something that we should definitely experience while we were in South India. After taking a look at several choices online, we finally decided to use Rainbow Cruises. We were staying at a hotel in Cochin, so our main concern first and... More
