We visited Seeta Temple near Nuwara Eliya. Felt blessed to visit the place. A very nice place but needs a lot of attention. You can see the footstep of lord Hanuman at the backside of the temple. Also we were told that the Ashok vatika was right behind the temple. Hope the government will take good care of the place.

Its a great temple to visit. Reminds you of the history lessons. The Ashok Vatika is a great scenic beauty and The Ra-vans foot steps are something to see.

If you are Indian and Hindu, you are likely to be told stories of Ramayana sites around the country. This is one of them with an impression of Hanuman's foot ! Quite clearly, a tourist trap. If the temple is on your way to somewhere else, do stop by but it is not worth doing an excursion to see the... More

Sita Eliya temple situated close to Nuwaya Eliya is believed to be the site of Ashok Vatika where Sitaji was held captive. There is a stream that runs behind the temple. You can find what are believed to be the footprints of Lord Hanuman on the stones next to the stream and they are visible from the back side of... More

This is built at the spot, where Ravana had kept Sita in captivity. This is of great importance to Hindus. The local tour operator, did not seem to know of the importance or the route to the temple. But after a few inquiries we were able to reach there. The temple is situated besides a stream. It has been kept... More

This is so called the place where sita was staying in her exile days. Well there is nothing much to see and do, just a small place with 2 temples and water flowing. They do show u a place with yellow circles which is so called hanuman's footprint. God knows how much is true ??

Without your own guide, you would never know this place has such an important significance to the Hindu religion. The location, with it's misty backdrop and monkeys darting around, is very interesting. It's good for a 20 minute visit.

This temple should not be missed!! We always heard stories about Ramayana - but when we visited here - everything came to live making us believe that whatever we heard was true and all the stories have taken place in real long years ago. The only drawback is that it isn't maintained properly - there should be proper maintenance to... More
