Love the fact that it is not overbuilt like Lake Hamilton and the Corp limits the buildings

A friend I was visiting has access to a pontoon boat. She took us on a sunset cruise and stopped at several of the many islands on the lake.

We hiked along the lake from Trails End Road (off #227) to Tompkins Campground and back) in five hours, leisurely. Shady trail, benches to rest, picinic at Tompkins, had a great time.

The water here is so clean and the lake is so large.

The lake is very pristine and is surrounded by the Ouachita Mountains. There is canoeing and kayaking available on the rivers surrounding the lake. Horseback riding is also nearby. This is a great lake to escape from all the water sports going on during the week and weekend on Lake Hamilton.
