The Chazen Museum has been transformed from a sleepy, boring little university museum into a world class institution. The huge new addition, which is architecturally exciting, and all the new art acquired in recent gifts make this museum worth a trip from out of town.

The Chazen Museum, located on the campus of the University of WI, Madison is a great way to spend a few hours to take in well selected art exhibits and get an idea of what the art world has to offer.

I saw the Comic Book exhibition here. What a neat exhibit - incredible really. Something for everyone here. A bit stuffy in comparison w. the MOMA but still - worth a look.

The addition to this is a classic. Great place. It has about doubled in size and is fantastic.

Lots of art from different eras and different genres. Completely free with lockers to keep your things in. Can take pictures with no flash. I've seen it three times since the edition and there is still more to see.

Hard to find, dreary entrance and unappealing to me exhibits so didn't go in.

The museum was a pleasant surprise as we walked on State St. enjoying lunch and shopping. The museum shop is great, the building incredible, and we really enjoyed the Houdini exhibit.

The previously small but beautiful Chazen Museum, now commands three times the gallery space including some excellent natural light and a three story interior space for large scale sculpture. Currently filled with a sprawling UW-Madison Department of Art Faculty show.

This is a great museum that is on the U W campus. Great diversity...and did I mention FREE! We spent two days because of the many exhibits!
