We really enjoy touring historic buildings and have seen many state Capitol buildings, this has got to be one of the most beautiful in the country. Our tour guide, Jerry, was wonderful. Funny, informative, easy to hear and understand. You are allowed to take photos everywhere on the tour, and we entered every major room. The senate and assembly chambers,... more

This impressive building is the center of Madison and dominates its skyline. It's dome is higher than the US capitol and the interior is especially warm and beautiful - a great tribute to the state. A must see if in Madison. more

Quite a spectacular building, with marble and gold leaf everywhere. A comprehensive (and free) tour - you visit the governor's office, state senate and house of representatives, and the supreme court. Summer is probably the best time for this - you might see less when these bodies are in session. At the end, you go up on the observation deck... more

This is a must-see for Madison visitors. My mother and I have toured many restored buildings, but the perfection of this one was just jaw -dropping spectacular. Don't miss the observation deck for a great 360 degree view of the city! more
