As Louisiana natives, Mardi Gras is nothing foreign to us. However, we thought a trip to Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World would be fun for the kids... you know... seeing all the bigger than life floats and etc. What we didn't realize was that there's so much more to Mardi Gras then we ever even knew and touring the warehouse... more

Enjoyed the tour of Mardi Gras World led by a knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff member. Since we visited on a weekend, we didn't have an opportunity to see the craftsmen working, but we were able to see the floats in progress and learn the stories behind them. Hopefully we'll be able to find the 2010 parade on TV so we... more

We went to New Orleans this summer and I wanted my daughters to see what most people typically think New Orleans is famous for. I thought this was a must see! We bought a Visiticket and this is one of the many attractions you can see. Although it isn't far from downtown, it was relatively easy to find the trolly... more

My son and I found this experience interesting. We enjoyed seeing the artists at work on the floats. Certainly, we had no idea how huge some of those floats are. We also found the tidbits offered by our tour guide interesting. We had to wait a while to start the tour. more

Mardi Gras World has now been moved to 1380 Port of New Orleans Pl New Orleans, LA 70130 near the Convention Center. You no longer ride the ferry to Algiers to get there, which might have been part of the fun for some. Still, for those who have never been to Marid Gras, this remains a place to see real... more

We had a great time at Mardi Gras World. We decided to go last minute when we had some extra time, and we're so glad we went. Prices are steep, but well worth it. There were coupons in a tourist guide we had, which made it a little easier on the wallet. Take the free ferry to Algiers. The shuttle... more

When my friend suggested an excursion to Mardi Gras World, I was quick to dismiss the idea. Spending the $18 entrance fee to look at a bunch of clowns and floats was just not appealing to me. However, I was so happy that she convinced me into the fun experience. Be prepared to take some fantastic pictures of these creative... more

I've been to New Orleans many times & never checked out this place until December 2008. What a fun time! There were 3 of us - spouse, elderly mother & me! Take the ferry over to Algeiers & a well identified shuttle appears to give you a lift to Mardi Gras World - roughly 3 blocks from the ferry. The... more

This was kinda neat to do (better than the Segway tour!) and it was fun to see all of the floats and how they are reused and recycled every year. Would recommend. more
