This was a fun place to visit, especially if you are a photographer. The visuals are overwhelming and the tour guides were charming. This is a great place to go at noon when the summer heat makes you want to dodge into a cool, shady area.

I say it's a side trip because this is an area most would not normally stroll upon. We took the free shuttle from Canal Street. This was the one place my wife read about that she most wanted to visit. It was a great exposure for someone who has never been to Mardi Gras. It is extremely colorful, historical in terms of many of the displays, and gives a great introduction to the whole experience of Mardi Gras, krewes, etc.

Mardi Gras World is a great way for the whole family to see close up the color and carnival atmosphere of the parade floats without witnessing any activities that may not be suitable for children. Definately wortha a look if you are in NOLA out of the festival season.
