It's considered a bad idea to paw through books anywhere except a bookshop. That you were pregnant means nothing to anyone - unless, of course, you were expecting him to be as absorbed with your impending infant as you are, or for him to be a mind-reader. The fact that THOUSANDS of drunk, ignorant and disrespectful tourists come through the... More

A dirty cramped shop full of overpriced items most of which don't appear authentic. Go ahead in and look - a few interesting items - but not really anything worth buying here.

The guy that worked in the "book section" was a horrible grouchy person. My friend and I opened a book to see the contents before buying and the guy passively aggressively told us to read one of the multiple inconspicuous signs. It was in the middle of the day and he regarded us as belligerent, drunk tourists. I am pregnant... More

Last Wed. my sister and I entered the shop for her to get a reading. While doing so, the gentleman behind the counter offered me a stool to sit on while I waited for her. We had a very nice conversation and he was quite the gentleman. I enjoyed speaking to him and with that I could do so again.

I went to this store and absolutely love it. I purchased a voodoo love doll and not even 3 mins later... A stranger grabbed me and kissed me! thank god for the pizza guy across the street that saved my life.

Rev. Zombie's Voodoo Shop is right across the street from Pat O'Brien's and a couple doors down from Yo Mama's. It has a great location to attract tourists. The shop is divided into two sides with two drastically different personalities. The side which sells t-shirts, cigars, figures had a gal working who was chatty and funny and helpful. The other... Visit one of the real shop with initiated practitioners instead. This stuff is marketed to tourists, and not authentic.

Rev. Zombie's House of Voodoo is located on Bourbon Street and is a great place to 'pick up supplies', take in an important and sometimes overlooked aspect of New Orlean's culture, and collect some neat souvenirs unlike any you will find in the tourist shops. We have also been to the Voodoo Museum (which has a GREAT tour!)--I would recommend... More
