We had here one of our finest jazz music experiences ever. The Morehouse College (Atlanta) jazz band played between sets, and a handful of the student musicians played with the Uptown Jazz Orchestra led by Delfeayo Marsalis. It was a gas!! It's a tiny place, a surprise to us who are used to Yoshi's in Oakland, CA. The advantage is... More

There aren't enough superlatives to describe this hole-in-the-wall save for one; what jazz is supposed to be. Would pay twice as much to see anything here again. A music-lover's delight. Delfeayo and his incredible band walked through 30 years of jazz in 90 minutes and left us begging for more. This will be my first and last jump-off point on... More

Snug Harbor is just that - a tight little place and a haven for good music and good times. We saw Charmaine Neville, along with her dad Charles for a set of great music. It was inexpensive, the wait staff was cordial, the musicians incredible. No problems with sight or sound - we were in the balcony and looked down... More

We enjoyed some great jazz and a bit of gospel. The venue is small but a cozy setting. There were probably 100 people or less and tickets were $25 each. The sound was very good. No dinner due to long wait and no snacks available before the show but that was ok. Look forward to going back.

Experiencing Delfeayo Marsallis and the Uptown Jazz Orchestra in this wonderful club was like hearing music for the first time. We sat in the front of the upper balcony and were treated to such a great vibe as the musicians warmed up. The energy crackled as the concert began upstairs, with the band surrounding us before they went downstairs to... More

Great jazz, ambiance not so great, but who cares with such great music! Good thing - they don't oversell admissions, so everyone gets a seat.

Great music, casual atmosphere, tight seating (no room to dance). Paid $25 for a great show by Spanky and the Love Handles.

I visited the Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro to hear the Ellis Marsalis Quartet. It is a small but wonderfully quaint place. Most nights, you can hear top jazz artists for about $20 to $30. It seats perhaps 100 people (about 50 downstairs and 50 upstairs) which allows you to get up close and personal with the artists. Dinner was booked,... More

The food here was only OK so like most New Orlean's music venues, eat somewhere else before you go. The venue is somewhat cramped but you are right there with the musicians. The real reason to go here is the music so check out who is playing. W had the great luck to see Delfeayo Marsalis and his big band... More
