This was the very first place we came to as we left our hotel early in the afternoon to explore the French Quarter. Spicy live blues music was playing and the place was quaint and the staff made you feel like a local. Later that evening we stopped back by for a nightcap and the place was rockin' with another... Bourbon Street can be many things to many people. I used to live just around the corner from the Opera House and although the daily racket that is the 'quarter can wear on one's nerves to the point of retreat I found myself actually missing this place. I was pleased to find that things haven't changed much. New staff, as... More

We travel to NOLA frequently and love cold beer and classic Rock and Roll. You'll get both at the OOH. Don't get me wrong this place can rock the house with a great cover band or you'll think your head will explode if the lead singer hollers "SOMEBODY SCREAM" then breaks into another bad rendition of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'".... We came across this by happenstance, but were pleasantly surprised. We arrived during a break in the music so we were able to catch a table and barstools. Band was your average cover band, but the atmosphere was perfect for our first stop of the night. Many other couples here as well as colorful characters to watch.

We found ourselves going back to the Old Opera House each night because the bands were so good. They had a really good cajun band from 1-8pm each day and we always started our day here to watch the band and get in the mood to hang out on Bourbon Street. The staff was really friendly and they had pretty... More

We found the bar on Friday night, had our freinds meet us there, and did not leave until 3am. Went back after a great dinner Saturday night, song list was different, the male and female lead singers were extremely good, and got there ealry enough to get bar stools. Barteneders aer workaing hard but its loud so be patient. Shot... More

I was in New Orleans Nov. 12-15, 2009 and went to the Old Opera House every night because the band was incredible and the crowd very friendly. On Saturday night they had two amazing singers who did a fantastic job with Joplin, Tracy Chapman, Zeppelin, Journey etc. The guitarist was also a standout. Not to be missed!

We love to go here and most recently due to the fun young zydeco band that plays in the afternoons. Sorry I'm blanking on their name (too many 2-4-1's!!!). Service is good too. Just a fun place all around when strolling Bourbon!

I've been going to the Old Opera House on the corner of the 600 Block of Bourbon Street for years. While I've not heard a ton of cover bands for the 70s-90s, this band will entertain. I live locally and will go down several times a year to listen to this band. They do take requests, and you can stand,... More
