A lot of crime but lovely I don't spend a lot of time there but it is a pretty area. Just a little scary for me.
I was expecting a lot more, these homes could look beautiful if the owners would just take care of them.
I renovated an old house there in the 90' great neighborhood. A lot of history. worth taking a visit thru while you are shopping on Magazine St or riding the St Charles streetcar. Look for the 3 house painted Mardi Gras colors on Euterpe St.
Something you can"t see anywhere else - the different styles of housing is very unique and many are very ornate. This has always been a beautiful part of town, especially in the spring with all the azaelas in bloom.
Many places to eat and food is good every thing is so close.
If by some chance you find yourself in the Lower Garden District, one of the most fun things t do is just walk around. There's street prforemers, art for sale, old buildings, and little shops all over!
Love this area. Nice afternoon walk. Lots of stuff to see.
