I went on a tour of the Quarter done by the Friends of the Cabildo. I assumed this would be a great history tour. The guild urged everyone to get water and use the rest room before we left but then she left without 4 of the tour takers. We caught up with her in Jackson square where the tour... More

Preston was our guide. He was very personable, knowledgeable and funny. He kept us entertained. Three hours went by quickly.

I took a tour given by the "Friends of the Cabildo" and although the tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable there was too much discussion about architecture and too little about history and culture.

This tour is given by the "Friends of the Cabildo". Our guide was very knowledgable and interesting. The tour was a little over 2 hours long. It started in Jackson Square and ended in Jackson Square. We learned many interesting facts about historic people and buildings in the French Quarter. This tour also included a walk through of the 1850... More

Since we've been there 2-3 times a year since our first anniversary in April 2008 (when we discovered the French Quarter Fest by accident), we thought we didn't need a walking tour to see streets we'd seen so many times. Last year we bought a membership in the Friends of the Cabildo, and it came with a free walking tour.... More

Tip: The big bus tours do not go into the French Quarter. The only way to really see it is on a walking tour. No where else is so much history and culture packed into such a small space. It is a delightful time, on so many different levels. Your guide can give you tips on the best places to... More

Most of the shops seemed to order from the same place so it felt like we were seeing the same thing over and over.

Had a priviate tour of the French Quarter with Rebecca. Excellant guide. She loves and knows every bit of history and nook and cranny in the French Quarter. Rebecca told us of the history and the buildings in a very informative and fun way. She loves History and it comes alive through her tour.

On a recent Saturday in New Orleans, several friends and I took a walking tour with a guide from the tour company, ToursByJudy. He not only gave a great Free People of Color tour but at no additional charge, added the French Quarter tour .Great information and given in a delightful manner.
