Animals everywhere... beautiful scenery...worth the drive
I loved this drive! You get to see a lot of buffalo, prairie dogs, and the burros (which you can feed!!). It's just a great, can't-miss feature of Custer State Park.

We saw herds of buffalo, and some babies. Some right up to the road. Coyote, white tail deer, and famous mooching donkeys! (Bring apples). Loved it!
A must see if you are in the area. Great photo opportunities with all the wildlife.

Definitely do this loop at dusk--and drive slowly! Lots of wildlife.
This drive will take you right up close and personal with Bison, Antelope, Burros, and all kinds of wildlife living in Custer State Park.
The wildlife loop is fun to visit... you see so much stuff and the kids have a blast.
You won't see as much natural wildlife as you do in the Black Hills National Forest, but it's a view worth driving for. It's beautiful.
