We went Kayaking at Legion Lake and enjoyed every minute. It was a beautiful and quiet place to relax. Our cabin sat at the top of Legion Lake for a beautiful setting.

My family and I always stay at Legion Lake Campground when we go to the hills. I recommend it. It's beautiful, has trails, fishing, and paddleboats. Canoes, and a beach. A lodge and gift shop. It's pretty much everything you could ask for, right next to the campground. It's great. You can actually go climb this rock pictured. People used... More

Paddleboats, little store, fun, gorgeous scenery-as with all lakes in the Black HIlls.

Mother nature could of made it better but for a man made lake this quaint, cozy lake is just the right size for cruizing around on a paddle boat, canoe, or one of those 3-wheel pontoon bicycles, or just having a delicious meal on the lodges deck. Awesome for any movie back drop..

My favorite in CSP. There are just 17 sites. The big-rig owners are good about shutting down generators for the night. This place tends to attract fewer of the party-all-night crowd and more of the marshmallow-roasting family-types. There's a general store, a (VERY basic) restaurant, and a small pond for wading, swimming and paddle-boating across the road. Two trails pass... More

On a road trip from Chicago we stayed at the Legion Lake Lodge @ Custer State Park and really enjoyed it. Bison literally outside our cabin in the morning. The breakfast for me, my wife and two boys was awesome. The menu is small, but outstanding. Pancakes, French toast, eggs, hash browns. This was the best breakfast we had on... More

Legion Lake is the most casual of the Custer State Park resorts -- and it fit our family's lifestyle perfectly. The one bedroom cabin with kitchenette was newly remodeled with a small fridge, microwave, toaster, sink and two burner stove. There was a lovely bedroom with windows on 3 sides, overlooking the woods and lake, while another bed was off... More
