We went to the Market on a Saturday afternoon -- maybe not the best idea! It seems like a fascinating place to people-watch, shop, and taste test...but struggling through the crowds puts a damper on that experience. I was thrilled to check out the famous fish market, and was awed by all the paper-wrapped bundles of beautiful flowers people were... more
Visiting this place is a feast for the senses. The colors of the endless flower vendors (with the biggest bouquets being no more than $15). The smells, colors and shapes of the fish markets - which were especially fun for a land locked Texas family. The styles and colors of all the local artisans with tons of hand made, beautiful... more
What a fun and interesting place to visit. You can find about everything in the Market -- fruit, fresh flowers, donuts, fresh fish, crafts, small restaurants, and other odds and ends. We went every day to The Daily Dozen for our donut fix, and also enjoyed the hustle and bustle of just being in the Market area. This is a... more
Pike's is spread out over several blocks, but its totally worth it. There are outdoor fresh food areas, lots of eateries of all kinds--french, chocolate, chowder, asian, etc. There's also a great area where you can buy fresh cut flowers for a great price, as well as fresh fish and spices. more

Believe all the hype you've heard about this place: it's lovely. There are vendors for every sort of food imaginable: seafood, fruits, veggies, flowers, locally made jams and jellies, and more. Vendors selling handmade arts and crafts line the streets and the halls. Stores sell quirky ethnic products, souvenirs, and more. My favorite, though, was sampling the various offerings from... more
Pike Place Market was my favorite sight to see in Seattle. It was very busy on the weekend so go on the weekdays. Tons of flowers, cool crafts/jewelry, so much to see. Follow a walking tour from a travel book so you don't miss anything. more
We visited the Pike Place Market in August 2007. My wife and I had our six-year-son, and two-year-old daughter with us. Let me start by saying that finding a parking spot, and the crowds that we had to fight through with a stroller were unbelievable. The timing was probably bad on our part, it was a Saturday afternoon, and there... more
I had read several reviews of the market that were not favorable. I was hesitant to take my family there when we took our first trip to Seattle. What we found when we got there was a really good time. We all enjoyed the Chunkar chocolate cherries and almonds. Our favorite shop was Lark in the Morning. There were instruments... more
