This park is mostly filled with homeless people. They have absolutely NO problem to follow you around until you give them money. Get's even worse at night.

Occidental Park was part of our one-day walk through the Pioneer District and Chinatown. The distinquishing feature of Occidental Park was the six or seven homeless guys who were just beginning to stir around at 11:30am. the park also contains a memorial to firefighters and thier courage and is adjacent to the waterfall park. Occidental Park is an interesting place to find locals eating lunch at some great little restaurants, see local artists sell/display their wares or acts, play bocce, take a break, etc. However, unfortunately, it's not a place to discover after dark. This location is not a "park" in the sense of recreation, playgrounds and nature abounding. But it is natural in the sense that it is a common gathering area at the "heart" of Seattle where many people come to rest, read, enjoy occasional concerts in the park and even a community meal and worship service hosted several times a year...
