“Lots of quaint and quirky shops”

Ballard District has a mix of coffee shops, eateries, a movie theater and lots of quirky shops. It makes for an interesting stroll if you are in the area, but not really a tourist destination in and of itself.

Ballard has a wonderful collection of really terrific restaurants along Market Street, plus The Locks, Shilshole Marina and the Leif Erickson statue, Golden Gardens and my favorite grocery store--Trader Joe's. I visited Seattle over a few days & visited many different sections. This one is my favorite by far :) Record stores, great food & coffee/tea shops

This old working neighborhood is trendy for the 21 and up crowd. So many wonderful restaurants to choose from. Put your name on the list one place and head down the block for a drink. This year-round market is a wonderful place, full of interesting people, produce, musicians and animals. No matter the time of year or the weather, the Ballard Sunday farmers' market is visited, supported and loved by locals.
