I read a review that said "overpriced". Absurd. They are a little high, but, considering they have many things that you can't get elsewhere, it is worth it. The selection is extensive and I found the staff to be very knowledgeable and helpful. They specialize in Spanish items, but also have a French outlet next door called The Paris Grocery....

On Western Avenue, below 1st and University, this market delivers kitchen goods, condiments, candies, books, meats, recordings, pottery, gifts, and wines galore...all from Spain. A knowledgeable and helpful staff alows long-term browsing; but, they can find an obscure item in a minute. The owners have a charming French market just down the street.

Went to this shop for first time in March in Santa Fe, NM. Saw many items that were really marked up. Not sure why. Staff not especially knowledgable, either. Surprised by entire experience. Expected better.
