the park set in old quarries is like a lush sunken garden with bamboo forests. the animals look really happy and i gather they breed well in captivity here, that doesn't surprise me! sadly most of the good collection of big cats were napping when we visited but their favourite siesta spots are visible from the viewing points. the restaurant... We went to this zoo with our kids and spent a lovely day out. There is plenty of space, many species to see and very nice viewing conditions. As the zoo takes place in a former limestone quarry the tour is really immersive and even on a hot day, the place stays comfortable.

This has to be one of the best zoos in the world. The setting is just fantastic, using the old quarries and caves to house the animals. As zoos go this is a favourite.

The best thing about this zoo is the setting ,Inside an very old quarry the pathways are set out , so you do't miss any of the animals of which there is a great variety, the animals all appear happy! , the enclosures are large the shop at the exit could be a problem for some families as the range... The setting of a vast ex quarry, divided up into desert, savannah, rivers and jungle and housing big cats and Rhinos with Hippos too is an eye opener. Wild animals of all description roaming, apparently unrestricted, was a photographic treat. The animals seemed content and active. No peering into dark cages in the hope of spotting some small mammal which... More

Magical experience. The zoo is set in an old quarry which provides large and natural enclosures. The vulture aviary has to be seen to be believed. Great food. If you are nearby don't miss this experience!

Normally zoos make me feel a bit sorry for the animals but not the case here. Animals looked really fit and happy. Its a zoo with heart. Me and my kids loved it.
