A great place to view birds close to town. Sometimes there are bald eagles nesting in the back of the marsh.

What a view!!!!! Up close we have the birds which migrate from around the world. In the distance, moose are munching on the marsh. Very Cool...

The only birds were two ducks and 4 cranes and a couple seagulls which could be seen every where I've lived. Supposedly the snow geese were in residence but not a one in sight .

It's amazing how one can get mesmerized just watching the water fowl swim, dive and sit. So many kinds, so many birds! It is easy to spend an afternoon here and not realize where the time has gone,

Love to watch the birds in the air and the bugs in the water! They've recently expanded it and my kids love it. You can see water moles (?) and spiders and other creepy crawlies from the safety of the walkway and the kids love it.

There never seems to be any activity when we are there. Going south out of Anchorage one has to cut across oncomig traffic. One iside the area has viewing platforms. But, any birds that do decide to visit seem down at the other end along the Seward Highway and the passing traffic is unnerving

This is a very accessible walk right as you are leaving Anchorage. It is a nice place to go with kids and older adults or with people who need wheel chairs or walkers. The paths and boardwalks are kept in good condition, the bathrooms are nice and there are lots of things to see in a short time. We have... More

Coming to potter marsh and watching the wildlife is really relaxing. The loud cars and smelly pond can be a turn off though

There are birds here year round, and salmon spawn here in the fall. The bridge way paths are well maintained, and it's not uncommon to see moose in the distance. It's a nice break from the city.
