Great bike ride at almost any hour! When we went in June we started at 7pm. We rented our bikes near the start of the trail and made the full trek to the end. There are really only 3 big hills during the ride out, and the ride back is mostly downhill. Not having been on a bike in a... more

A great trail, recommend hiring a bike, but remember to take your mosquito repellant or they will eat you alive! more

We biked almost all of the trail (after renting bikes at Downtown Bike Rental) and really enjoyed it. Lots of hills, so be ready for a somewhat serious ride. Lots of really great picture opportunities. Beautiful! more

Unless you're a marathon runner or your mommy pushes your stroller, the best way to experience the 11-mile Tony Knowles Coastal Trail is by bicycle. We rented bikes on 4th Avenue in downtown Anchorage ($32 for 2 bikes, 3 hours), rode a few blocks, then jumped on what can only be described as a paved slice of Alaskan heaven. The... more

My husband and I biked the trail on vacation in Anchorage. At the time, we were beginner sport bikers (I hadn't been on a bicycle in years!), but we made it to the end and back and it was worth every peddle!
