The ANMC is a beautiful hospital with a amazing collection display of native artwork as well as handicrafts. Each floor has a great display of different regional art/clothing/baskets and other treasures. Do not miss the gift shop that supports native artists as well as the hospital.

The architecture is ultra modern, and the extensive use of Alaska Native art as decoration is not only interesting, but is also very welcoming. If you qualify for IHS services, there are extras such as the workout facilities, and more...

If you've an hour in ANC (waiting for a plane?), head to the hospital and view the arts/crafts displays they have on each floor of their lobbies. Really good stuff.

It may seem strange to recommend that you visit a hospital to see a world class collection of native art but in the case of the Alaska Native Medical Center, it is an excellent recommendation.
