Hiked this 4.5 mile trail in July, 2009. Well maintained trail, good resting spots, very nice views looking back at the mountains. I am not an avid hiker, so this was a little on the strenuous side. Be prepared with water and some food. more
The Flattop Trail is a great hike if you are in town for a couple days. Easily reached west of town, you can either walk around the base on a circle trail or hike Flattop itself.
