This a great option for a FLWright fan, but if not, can be a bit dry. Although, local history buffs might enjoy it as well.
You will probably visit to see a masterpiece from Frank Lloyd Wright, but house was designed for a pretty amazing woman. The architecture, styling and infinite details of the house are incredible. The house was commissioned by Susan Lawrence Dana to suit her lifestyle. The house itself is beautiful, but it made so much more fascinating as you learn about... More

We were fortunate enough to tour this house after the Christmas Decorations were up. It's a beautiful house anyway, but decorated was stunning. An amazing example of FLW's work.
I am SO GLAD that we took the time to stop here. It was perfect after the previous day which was all Lincoln. The house is the work of a genius and it is almost completely how FLW designed it, from art to light fixtures to furniture. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. You will not be disappointed... More

The house is fully furnished in prairie stylepieces designed by the great man himself (most of them original to this house) and restored by the state of Illinois to pristine condition. At Christmas the home is decorated in period holiday style to the delight of all. Truly... More

Like every other FLW building I've seen: you just can't capture it on film the way you can walking through it. This house was particularly interesting. It contains most of the original FLW-designed furnishings, which helps you envision what it was like to live there even more. This FLW is unique in that it started as a renovation of another... More
We've seen quite a few FLW properties, but this one is outstanding. Not only a fabulous house but close to 90% of the original furnishing are also in the house. No plywood furniture here.
