Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After looking at the internet for iceclimbing adventures around Reykjavik, we chose to go with TG travel. From the very beginning, Tómas responded promtly on all our questions and offered to pick us up at road 1 for free (other companys charged 1.000dkkr for this!!).
We arrived a bit early, but Tómas was already there to pick us up, and off we went. First stop was fitting of all the gear, which happend in a very friendly and relaxed manner. There was no doubt, that safety was in top.
We had an amazing walk at the gleicher, and spend more than two hours climbing. Since we were only the two of us (three including Tómas), we had around 5 climbs each, before we headed back to the car.
On our way back Tómas was very patient and had all the time we needed for kodak-moments stops, answering of questions and just enjoying the fantastic scenery.
I you are going - do yourself a favor and book with TG travel!!

I had SO much fun on this. Tomas was a great instructor - and tailors every tour to your ability. He was funny and very knowledgable about the glaciers and Iceland's history. I would highly recommend this tour, especially as it is the only local tour company doing these tours. Support the locals!!

I booked the trip online and received an email with all of the information I needed. We met up with Tomas just off the main road and he took us to the glacier. While trying to find a good place to climb, he explained the landscape and told us a bit about Icelandic culture. There was only two of us on the trip so it was very personal and very enjoyable. We both think that the tour was the highlight of our vacation.

I don’t much care for tours. I prefer the adventure of an experience. Despite my preference, I booked a tour for a glacier walk with TG Travel/ARCANUM Glacier Tours.
The night before the glacier walk, we considered bailing out after a late night in Reykjavik. We decided to go anyway. On our way, we made a wrong turn and drove 60 km out of our way and again considered bailing, but decided to go forward anyway.
Tomas greeted us in good humor and quickly geared us up with enhancements for the winter elements before he took us to the walking site. With unbelievably strong winds pushing against us, and rain pelting us, he was quick to ensure us the difficult part was walking to the destination, but the challenge would be worth it. As we walked through a glacier with all its clarity and beauty, my son and I just observed in awe the wonder of this natural phenomenon.
Tomas, born and raised in the same region in which he took us walking, was an amazing guide! He answered all our questions and gave us tremendous history about the life of the glaciers and the ever-changing formations. We felt completely comfortable and well guided. My son and I got not only an adventure, but a wonderful experience. We both agreed the glacier walk was awesome! We were so glad we didn’t bail. In fact, as we were completing our walk, we ran into another tour group from Reykjavik and we laughed that with so many other choices, we knew we’d booked with the right guide, our friend Tomas.
If you’re considering this tour, book it immediately! The experience and the adventure are just the beginning.

We signed up for the glacier/ice climbing adventure. Tomas waited for us at the main road and drove us to the glacier. He explained the geography and shared a lot of stories and jokes along the way. He clearly knows this part of the world like the back of his hand. Perhaps it is because he is an independent operator, but his tour is special and not at all touristy and commercial. Upon confirmation of the initial booking, on the very user friendly website, he offered tips and advice on Iceland. Even whildt on the glacier, he was continuously concerned about our wellbeing and offered up his gloves to one of the girls in our group who was cold. I would definitely recommend that anyone call on Tg travel if you want to do a glacier walk/climb.

We went on a glacier walk with Tómas, arranged through Hotel Ranga, and it was brilliant. It was far nicer to just go with a private guide rather than with a large group. Tómas told us all about the area, the volcano craters and glaciers, as well as Icelandic tales. He took us to waterfalls and waited as we climbed to the top to take photos and see the view. The glacier was incredibly beautiful and the walk was one of the best things I have ever done, I'd recommend it to anyone. We always felt safe and looked after, we took far too many amazing photos, and had an experience we'll remember forever. Thank you, Tómas!

We've just got back to our hotel after a great day walking on the glacier. Our guide Tomas was excellent throughout, knowledgable and friendly, he entertained us with Icelandic fairy tales about the region. Ice climbing was a genuine challenge, but great fun, and leaves you with a real sense of achievement if you can reach the top. Makes the beer taste even better when it's over. Thoroughly recommended for anyone travelling in south Iceland.
