This museum is a gem and well worth the short ride from Boston. It is vibrant with continually updated exhibits and galleries. Salem is a cute little city/town with lots of history and charm. The PEM is their crown jewel.

This museum honors the work of great past and present Harvard faculty by presenting it in a way that is accessible to the public without diminishing the incredible amount of time and devotion that went into discovering and researching the information presented. For those who want to learn more about what you see here, check out works by David Carrasco... More

Amazing exhibit of flowers and plants made entirely out of glass over 100 yrs ago. Also adjoining it is a fabulous collection of minerals -- large, colored, glistening ore bodies which are in themselves works of art. Objets Trouves uncovered by man.

The american paintings are very well presented. The chinese home is interesting, true to origin (As I was in China and could compare). Atmosphere was very good.

One of my favorite museums. It has never been crowded when I have been there. So much more peaceful than the MFA. They have great exhibits. Well worth the trip.

An amazing museum to spend a day or a couple hours. If you've never seen this unique glass flower collection (created in the 1800's for Harvard's botany department), this is a must-see! The kids will love the comparative zoological section displaying every animal from hummingbirds to giraffes to the largest of whales! It's like a zoo where the animals stand... More

Didn''t know the Yankees had traded many years ago in the world from this port city. They even have a very old court yard house moved from China and rebuilt by Chinese tradesmen. It was a landlord's and his family's home. Many present day Chinese even didn't see this kind of house when in China!

Many wonderful and well preserved Native American artifacts. Interesting exhibit about a dig done by Harvard students in 2009 to find out more about the "Indian College" at Harvard in the 1600's. My have things changed around there!
