I have been to more than a few Civil War exhibits elsewhere, but I learned things here that I had not learned before. Also, I really like the interactive displays and the timeline layout with the videos interspersed. I was lucky that I was alone, not on a time deadline, and could visit at my own pace. Even so, when... More

My family & I visited this museum some years ago, and despite what some of the reviewers have said, I remember it as being quite a nifty Civil War Museum. Just to be at the site of the old Tredegar Works where the Confederacy made much of it's munitions and the fact that it still exists in one form or... More

I'm sure the civil war buffs will really enjoy, but I'm not one. It was interesting, but just not a highlight of my trip.

Felt that the displays are way too politically correct. And just barely historically accurate. Did not go into enough detail about the war. Sorry to see that the museum feels it necessary to apologize for terminology that was popular during that time. As if we all are thin skinned and will be offended. A shame.

Plenty to see on a beautiful site over looking the Rivah.the film on civil war history , gives you a great insight .Richmond was the focus of the civil war and you go back in time to learn the reason why . Outside areas well kept not good if you are disabled.enjoy and see the civil side of history

This is a pay to enter museum next to the NPS free museum, it gives and explanation of the causes of the war and how slavery was not the cause of the war, but came to be a central park of Lincolns stategy. Entry fee can be offset against car parking, no food or drink available , eat before you... More

We only visited the free museum at Tredegar, not the one next door. We ran out of time. The Tredegar museum isn't big on the inside, but the movie is good and the iron works outside were interesting to look at. The giant maps on the wall help you understand the battles that took place around Richmond in 1862 and... More

Without a doubt the best presentation of ALL THREE sides of the Civil War I have ever learned about...North, South, and Slaves viewpoints and issues. Tredegar and the private museum on the same premises are a MUST SEE. They will send you away thinking about the war in a way you never have before experienced!

Interested in the inner workings and artillery of the CSA. A must see to appreciate this part of history.

Well though out, with many interactive displays and a balanced presentation of viewpoints throughout. An exceptional value and learning experience.
