Two ways to hike- easier trail with switchbacks to make it easier than going straight up off River St and Mountain Ave, or from near the Billings Farm hike up the carriage roads to the Pogue pond near the top. Enjoy a beautiful view of Woodstock from the top. Lovely star is lit on the top during the Christmas holidays.

Easy hike, great trail up to the South Peak and a very rewarding view of the Village of Woodstock from the top.

Perfect for a hike anytime of year- you can hike all the way up and then switch back down towards Rockefeller property. Be sure to wear spikes or YakTraks if it's the winter!

We hiked Mount Tom during our mid-winter visit to Woodstock. Thought it was lovely. You can do a moderate 1-2 mile (up) hike, it is quiet (at least in the winter) and pretty .

It was a little icy, but we really enjoyed 2 days of cross country skiing in this area. Trails are well marked. Fresh snow will make it even better!

Quiet walk, wander as you must as the signage is not good in the fall but you can't get lost as you can hear the noise from town on one side of Mt. Tom. A good steep hike.

The trail is a side to side twist that allows you to walk horizontally up the mountain instead of straight up it. There are shortcut trails between the parallelling trails for the hiking that wants to get right up it, or you can casually stroll the zig-zag path. There are many roots and rocks in the path, so be sure... More

I found Mount Tom by accident. I had gone to Woodstock and happened to stroll to the Billings Rockefeller National Park. I then hiked up to the top using the carriage roads. It was a beautiful August morning. Cool and pleasant. I first saw the lake and then went further to the top of Mount Tom which had great 360... More

I trailered my horse to Mt. Tom and the trails were lovely. You can easily go for 20 miles. I parked off Rt. 12 where the Mt. Tom Farmer's Market is. Don't go on a Sat between 9-1 as the market is there. The lot on Prosper St is small and if there is another trailer there, you might not... More
