I am a GWTW fan but found this pointless. I was looking forward to finding out more about the inspiration for the book. There was information in on the walls which was interesting up to a point. However the tour was a waste of time and money. To be honest I was embarrassed to have to stand and listen to... more

My husband and I visited the Margaret Mitchell house on Friday, July 3rd. It was very easy to find. I enjoyed it and thought it was interesting to see where she lived while writing the book as well as seeing how the apartments were during that time. The tour took about 15 minutes (it was us and 2 other people)... more

A very enjoyable tour and extremely insightful on the characters in the Gone With the Wind. I enjoyed seeing the apartment Margaret did write the book in. more

I toured the Margaret Mitchell Home on March 10th along with three of my best friends. One girl is a movie buff, the other three of us were English majors in college; thus, we were already excited to see the home and museum. But our enthusiasm was quelled before the tour even began. We arrived about half an hour before... more

As a Gone With the Wind fan, this was among my stops on a recent trip to Atlanta. I was somewhat disappointed. It could have been so much more, but ended up being a bit boring. First, I arrived about 10 a.m., and the building was still locked, even though it is supposed to open at 9 a.m. Then I... more

I enjoyed the Margaret Mitchell House and Museum and I'm not even a fan of the movie, "Gone With The Wind." The tour is very interesting and informative. The actual house itself is very small. If you go with a large group, it will be nearly impossible to photograph much of the house. There is another building near the house... more

My flight was delayed, and the GPS noted I was 1.3 miles from the Margaret Mitchell house in midtown Atlanta--so I just had to stop for a quick look! Spread out over several buildings, the museum covers the life of Margaret Mitchell and lightly touches on other southern writers. It is also the home of the official GWTW movie museum,... more

If you want to learn about the author. We visited the second week of September 2007. Had an excellent tour guide (reminded us of the actor Fred Gwynne! very pleasant and informative) A real thrill of a visit if you are a true fan of the book (Gone with The Wind) One of the best take-ins in Atlanta in my... more

This was awesome. I learned so much about the writer of "Gone With the Wind". If you are not a fan of the book or movie, this will probably not impress you much and you will be bored. I loved it and plan to go back again within the year. The traffic in Atlanta is very fast paced though. Easy... more

I thought this was a worthwhile stop. I learned a lot about the lady who wrote Gone With the Wind. I did not know what she looked like or anything about her. Unlike other reviews, I found this tour and musuem to be very interesting. She was a very pretty Irish Catholic girl who was briefly married to a drunk... more
