We saw several highlights of the cliff dwellings in Mesa Verde, and this was my favorite -- my kids' (ages 11 and 8) too. Be forewarned it involves climbing ladders, stairs and squeezing through narrow crevices. I was a little nervous about the 32-foot ladder and the tight tunnels, but when we actually got there, it was really fun and not a big deal at all. The ladders are super sturdy and bolted down very well. There are good hand-holds at the top so it's very easy to step off the ladder. (This is true of... more

Balcony House is the best of the 3 main ruins (Spruce Tree, Cliff House & Balcony House). This is the hardest one to reach. Be prepared to climb several ladders and crawl through a tunnel.
