Lovely pond with ample walking trails that are easy to moderate. Lifeguards on duty at the corded-off swimming area, and plenty of canoeing and kayaking in the rest of the lake (along with long distance swimming) Great place to hike and swim and spend a summer afternoon!

Spent a great day hiking around the pond on various trails. Enjoyed some family time during a great spring day. Trails can get crowded during busy times. Parking can be limited.

What can I say? Thoreau was right! A great place to think and discover yourself. The walk around the pond is about 1.7 miles long and very enjoyable le. Be sure to use the restroom across the street at the parking lot, though. There aren't any along the path and the ones at the pond were closed.

It's easy to see why Thoreau loved it here. Bigger than I thought it would be. I wouldn't mind living here myself, but I don't think any condos are going up anytime soon.

You HAVE to get there early if you want to get in. Limited capacity. I was very disappointed that most of the people working and visiting were visitors from other countries.

Even if you don't remember your high school Thoreau, don't miss this beautiful spot! The pond is simple, yet elegantly peaceful. Take a quiet walk around the path--it isn't much of a challenging walk, so just enjoy the beauty and simplicity of nature. Don't miss this paradise.

I can full understand why Henry David Thoreau lived the way he did on Walden Pond.....it was so peaceful and calm and so much time to reflect here..without evening trying!!!!

Hike the trails, or swim in the pristine pond, or bring your canoe or kayak - it is very natural, and non-commercial. There is a bathhouse with restrooms and changing rooms, and areas to sit along the wooded paths or on the beach area or on the grass above the beach - Plenty of shade available - especially for my...
