I guess for the literary group this would be a must see...but what I liked was the HURD family plot. Those in geneoloy looking for this family will have tons here to look at. It's just down the side of the same hill as the poets site, can't miss it, huge, lots of family buried here.

As I love the study of genealogy, I went there to look for ancestors. I found one of our ancestors buried there. It was thrilling!

It is a cemetery, so don't get too excited. But it is really cool and has the hill with all the famous dead authors all right together. Cool to see for a quick visit.

You can walk from town, but it's best to drive. If you like walking through cemetaries, this is one of the best. The Thoreaus, the Alcotts and others on Author's Hill. And other well known Concordians as well.

Ephraim Wales Bull is buried here, he was the botanist who cultivated the famous Concord Grape from various Lambrusco grapes. 80% of the commercially grown grapes in the USA have their origins in Concord,Mass. A most revered Cemetary. Authors' ridge contains the family plots of some of the Greatest writers of the 1800's.Louisa May Alcott, Henry David Thoreau, Nethaniel Hawthorne and R.W. Emerson. Not to mention that Ralph Waldo Emerson is a distant great cousin.

The amount of notables buried here was astounding and the cemetery was a very nice place to walk around in a peaceful setting.

One of the best cemetery's I've visited. The only thing I would make sure of is that you go to the main office first. There are two entrances, and the main office is the second one from the light rail station.
