Tom's walking tour of the Muir Woods was the highlight of our trip to San Francisco. We learned so much more about the forest (and traveled further off the beaten track) than we would have on our own. The Muir Woods is a magical place and to be able to experience it in such an intimate way is something we... More

There are dozens of advertised tours to Muir Woods, but most are just transportation and a narrative on the way to the park. Tom's Muir Woods Walking Tour is so much more! Tom picks you up at your hotel, and takes ONLY 6 people at a time. He walks with you, explains the history of the woods, the area, and... More

Tom was a fantastic guide! I throughly enjoyed walking through the woods and enjoyed Toms narration. I particularly enjoyed the picnic lunch at the top of the hill - a very pleasant spot to sit and talk and enjoy the company of the others on the tour surrounded by the majestic Redwoods. Ending the tour in Sausalito was good and... More

Just do it! The bus ride over the Golden Gate Bridge is worth the cost of the tour! As John our bus driver told us, muir said you should saunter not walk through the red woods! He was right, of course, and made all the difference. When you stop in Sausalito ask where to find the orange painted store that... More

What an amazing example of God's beautiful creations! I feel the life in this forest. I loved the sounds, smells, & sights. This is the place to go for temporary relief from the busyness of this life. Take a wonderful break from the noise, hurry, & electronics and restore your peace in this breathtaking place.

My mom and I recently went on Tom's walking tour in Muir Woods. He picked us up at our hotel and we were at the park and on the trail early so we didn't have to deal with the crazy traffic or parking chaos. We really liked that he restricts the numbers so there were only 7 of us on... More

We took the Muir Woods Walking Tour on August 11. Tom Martell, the guide, met us in Union Square, an we proceeded from there. There were 7 of us on the tour. After a foggy drive across the Golden Gate Bridge, we entered the pristine beauty of Muir Woods. Tom's passion for the woods is evident throughout the tour. He... More

Tom's guided walk is an excellent way to see the woods without battling the tour buses for trail space. His hotel pickup went without a hitch, and we were in the forest by 8:20am. It was an incredibly busy tourist day and Tom knew exactly how far we had to go to avoid the crowds. He was very knowledgeable, had... More

Everyone must must must go to Muir Woods! It is so beautiful! There are a few options of walks to take, and the welcome center has maps for you. We decided on the smaller walk and it probably took about 30-40 mins, with stopping to take TONS of pictures! I would advise on bringing a sweater or jacket because even... More
