Even if just passing through town, be sure to take a short break to tour the Sidney Lanier Cottage. Our tour guide, Connie, was very well prepared and exhibited true Southern hospitality. As a Northerner visiting Georgia for the first time, I knew very little about the history of Macon or any of its illustrious inhabitants.
