The Corrales bosque, managed as a nature preserve, has the highest density of birds found in any of the riparian habitat in the Albuquerque area, Here you might see nesting Great Horned Owls or Cooper's Hawks, Spotted Towhees, bright red Summer Tanagers, as well as dozens of other species. Look for porcupines sleeping in the cottonwoods, and squirrels, coyotes, rabbits...

This community just off of the Rio Grande was the first of many stops Spanish expeditions made into New Mexico. Be sure to Google the many spots you may want ot make in this area.
