We were pleasantly surprised by the Marine Corps Museum. It has lots of tanks and guns, but also gives the historical context. There are 2 rooms with life-sized dioramas of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, which even had the temperature adjusted to match the location. Everything seems very thoroughly thought out. For example, the big staircase feels like a ship.... more

We visited the USMC Museum on the way back to the airport to catch our flight back to the UK after 2 weeks touring Virginia. What an exemplorary museum to a first class fighting regiment! We have our own bunch of lads called the Royal Marines who aren't too shabby in the fighting department either, but your museum kicks our... more

My wife and I had just been to the USMC Twilight Parade at the Iwo Jima Memorial the previous evening and were driving south on I95. At Exit 150A, we headed East to US 1 (less than a mile) then right on US 1 about 1/4 mile to the well marked entrance. The museum design is stunning and brings to... more

This museum is well done, interesting, easy to follow along the history of the Marines and the history of the USA. It is indeed a must see. The design of the building certainly captures your imagination and that is only the beginning. Start with the orientation film and then move around in a clockwise direction. Take the time to read... more

My husband and I have been there twice, and absolutely love it! I've taken well over 400 photos and the museum is not even 100% complete. Be sure to look around outdoors, as there are some very detailed monuments and inscriptions on the sides of the walkway. I have not been to the tavern (restaurant) in the museum, but we... more

If you are visiting the DC area, or just driving through on I-95, you must carve out some time to visit this outstanding museum located a mere 1/4 mile off Exit 150A. First and foremost, it is free - so every family, no matter how large, can put this on their list of museums without an economic impact. Free admission... more

It's easy to get to, just off of 95, in a spanking new building of awesome design that commands its setting. You can't miss it--and shouldn't. From the beginning, introductory film to the last, beautifully presented, cutting-edge display, it's a trip back through our country's history that will fill any American with pride. And impress all others. Some of the... more

I gave money to support the building of this monument that sits about 40 minutes south of DC in Quantico, VA. You cannot miss this awesome spectacle that shoots a glass sphere straight up in the sky. The museum is directly off Route 95 and was just opened November 2006 so it is fairly new and still outside is being... more

My father was stationed at Quantico in the 60s and he was a tour guide at the old Marine Museum. Needless to say, we were excited when we found out that the new museum had finally opened in Nov 06. We went down the following month! We had lunch in the Mess Hall on the second deck. The Mess Hall... more

I live a few miles away from this place and I've been there several times. I majored in Military History in college and I've been to a lot of military musuems, I can easily say this is one of the best! I won't bother describing all of the displays, but be sure to Google it and go to the musuem's... more
