I believe Sagamore was or is being renovated. When I visited last, we were with a tour guide from Sagamore. He was very informative and gave us some insight as to how Teddy lived.

We stopped here with our 4 young kids (9, 6, 3, and 1). The grounds are very walkable and they have 4 different Junior Ranger books. The rangers were very nice and informative. My kids enjoyed learning about TR and my husband and I found out a lot of info too! While TR's house is being renovated, the lands, the... More

This is worthy of National Park Status. Worth the trip for any history buff, and children will enjoy the stuffed specimens, etc.

I learned an awful lot about Theodore Roosevelt in such a short time. The grounds are beautiful.

We visited Sagamore Hill in November 2011 - days before the interior of Teddy's house was emptied and then shut down for the next few years for badly needed repairs and renovations. The place was still amazing to visit, but if you visit now it just won't be to the interior of the house. It is still a great site.... More

Be sure to take the house tour, since the interior is filled with Teddy's memorabilia and hunting trophies.

We've been here a number of times. It's great just to walk the grounds of this peaceful, idyllic area of Oyster Bay. As you lookout, you feel a sense of peacefulness. If Sagamore Hill is so peaceful in the 21st century, what might it have been like when the Roosevelts lived here? A tour of the house is presented by... More

One of my favorite trips from childhood is still a favorite as an adult. Dogs are welcome on the nature walk to the beach and on the grounds. Take the guided tour to learn about Teddy himself and hear of his fascinating life. I bring a picnic lunch and chairs to sit in the sun with my Dog and enjoy... More
