We went while the Centennial Quilt exhibit was happening, and wow is it impressive. Aside from the usual exhibits, there are amazing handmade quilts everywhere celebrating AZ's centennial, they are each unique and truly beautiful. Additionally just the regular everyday exhibits were fun. There is a great section on the history of mining, fun interactive exhibits on the upper level... More

We visit every few years and are always happy that there are new things to see. The old building that houses the museum is well preserved and especially nice to visit on a hot summer day.

We had a great time at this little museum. It is well laid out and very informative. My kids loved it.........especially the upstairs children's area. They spent an hour just playing dress up in all the "authentic" historical homes. Lots of hands on and large displays! Our family LIked!!!

This museum appears underrated in the reviews - it absolutely fascinated all the adults and the five year old in our party! Every kid and most adults would love the big walkthru model of a mine on the first floor. There were many more exhibits which were hands on for kids on the second floor -and every one of them... I actually loved this place as a child. In fact, I'm pretty sure the second floor was designed specifically for children--it has costumes, houses and huts with dolls in authentic clothing, kitchen tools, even a mannequin of a saddled-up horse you can sit on, so you can act everything out. I really enjoyed the first floor, too, when I was... More

This definitely isn't a place to take kids; the info is a little dry. You can tell they put a lot of effort into the museum. The 2nd floor is very cool, and the mining tunnel is as well. The 2nd floor is all recreated homes/lifestyles. They have the Indians, Spaniards, etc. It teaches you a lot about Arizona that... More
