Gorgeous, easy hike in the desert on foot or by shuttle
The tram/driver was a great docent and had a great sense of humor. It's probably best to go early in the day in warmer months.
This is a beautiful place to take a short to half day walk! Just make sure you bring you sunscreen, hat and water. If you don't want to walk, you can take a tram to see the area! Definitely would recommend this a must see when you visit Tucson!
You will surely enjoy the serenity in the canyon with all of the annual worldwide visitors. Be sure to keep an eye out to the right just after you enter for the crested saguaro...it has one arm with multiple limbs coming off of it. Many Tucsonan's miss this so be sure to look!
Great for hiking, walking or riding the tram for those with limited mobility. We love to walk the many easy paths or the road and occasionally try some of the more demanding hikes. An oasis in the desert/city.

Sabino Canyon has everything - you can quickly get off the crowded paved path onto very empty trails. Be sure you get a map at the visitors center. The tram is an option for those who don't walk. Moonlight hikes great. Wonderful in the fall when the leaves are changing and the creek is running.
Take the tram up and walk downhill back. This is a gorgeous place!
The tram up the canyon was lovely. The guide informative, the view exceptional, God's beauty so hard to describe, except to say it was totally awesome. WE got there at sunset, so enjoyed it even more. Cost was 6.00, but well worth every cent.
Sabino Canyon is a wonderful recreation area. The nature trail is close to the visitor's center and is easy enough for older visitors. The hiking here is great - well defined paths, helpful rangers in the visitor's center, many hikes to choose from. If you buy the Coronado Forest pass you have access at Sabino, Mt Lemmon, and Madera Canyon...
