Apparently there was a busload of students behind our Group and our tour was cut short to accomodate their schedule according to our Tour Guide. I'd rather have not known that fact. Interesting building, not sure if worth the cost.

If you like architecture and old houses, that the place for you! Loved lt! Visit too short for me.

The house really has little to do with the book by Hawthorne. However, if you enjoy history, it's worth an hour or so. The views across the water are lovely, as well as the gardens. If you're a Hawthorne fan, you'll likely enjoy the items on exhibit in the house where he was born.
