This park is huge. There are many hike and bike trails...miles of them! For a good escape right in the middle of town, it's awesome.

Wildlife abounds along the trails. Saw deer, armadillo, racoons, opossum, a rabbit and smelled a skunk.

We took our two daughters and dog to the park on Labor Day. It was a great way to spend the morning. There are lots of shady areas on the walking/biking paths which really helps when dealing with the heat. Our dog loved the dog park although it did get pretty busy so we didn't stay more than 15 minutes... More

It is nice to have such a large nature park in a populated suburban area. You are all but guaranteed to see deer if you take off down the hiking trails. McAllister is in the transition zone of three distinct environments so there is lots to attract nature lovers. The park is multi-use but there is plenty of room for... More

We brought our dog here and there is a dog park, but we did not utlize it. We walked the 5K loop around. My kids liked trying to find golf balls next to the driving range. There is a lot of shade, but the trails are not marked all that well. Some pavilions, tables, grills and camping sites. Lots of... More

Over all, the whole park is beautiful and a wonder place to socialize, exercise, and relax. The dog park was a wonderful addition. But as you would expect, dogs fight. But what you might not expect is that within 30 minutes someone might break into your car and steal from you. On the same night my friend's dog was attacked... More
