The cafe is small but the case showing the baked goods is like a museum of art. The food, of course, is excellent and the coffee is very good. They also have sandwiches and iced tea. while standing outside looking in window (where a sign was posted that said viewing area to watch students as they work) came out and told me I had to leave I was bothering his students. I was only there 15 min. Chef seemd full of himself not friendly or customer oriented. the desserts on display looked awesome..I didn't however buy... More

In the Pearl Brewery district, accessed by the water taxi, don't miss the Culinary Institute of America's Cafe and Bakery. They serve sandwiches and soups, paninis and to die for desserts. There is a free tour of the CIA offered infrequently so call ahead if you are interested. It's not that great, though. But those desserts are worth the trip.... More

We stopped here from the airport on the way to our hotel. You can see the Pearl Brewery sign from the highway and the Culinary Institute is located there. The cafe had a nice selection of sandwiches, salads and dishes. The chicken salad I had was great, very fresh and homemade. And the desserts.... oh my you can't pass up... More

Wait to get to the counter, reading the variety of dishes of the day which are listed on an easily-seen board, ask any questions, place order, get a table, get the food, enjoy!
