While the Riordan Mansion is only a five-acre park, you are immediately transported into a quieter, simpler, and more noble time by the cool Ponderosa pine trees, the beautiful turn of last century architecture, and the competent and knowledgeable tour guides. We were greeted by a ranger who also happened to be a history major at nearby NAU, and he... more

This mansion was built by two brothers in the logging business in Flagstaff. The mansion actually is two separate homes, which are mirror images of one another and are joined by a center game/family room, so that the two families could spend time together. One side has been restored with original furniture and the other side is a museum. The... more

A nice way to spend a little time looking back into the past in a surprisingly wonderful home. If you like antiques and old homes, check out this home (about 13,000 square feet in total). Filled with much of the original furniture it's an amazing home. The guided tour adds a lot to you experience and you will learn about... more

On a recent stay in Flagstaff my family went to the Riordan Mansion in the hopes of taking a tour. However, when I went to buy tickets the ranger looked at my two boys and started asking if I realized the length of the tour. At first I thought she was being helpful and simply making sure I wasn't about... more

Riordan Mansion is a great window into life in the early 20th century. It's well-preserved and the docents have extensive knowledge. If you like touring old homes, don't miss out on this one when you're in Flagstaff. more

Riordan Mansion is a great place to visit if you are interested in architecture and local history or just like looking at old houses. Otherwise, at $6/pp I’d skip it. The mansion (two large houses connected by a great room) was designed by Charles Whittlessey (Grand Canyon’s El Tovar) who was influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright. There is a self-guided... more
