Most people have a favorite mansion in Newport - Rosecliff is mine. Clean lines, elegance, beautiful grounds. The Marble house may be America's Challenge to Versailles and the Breakers may be grander, but Rosecliff is where I'd like to live!

Rosecliff has always been my favorite; not quite as grandiose as Marble House or The Breakers but, in my opinion, better decorated.

This staircase was a favorite as well as the ballroom. Another headset tour so you can go at your own pace. If you like film, this was the home used for the Great Gatsby, as well as a scene in True Lies.

Another beautiful opulent "cottage". Not to be skipped over. Use the audio tour. It is well done and full of history and first hand experiences. Most notable is the immense ballroom.

I find Rosecliff to be my personal fav so far of the mansions, been to 5, I find this one very romantic with it's sweetheart staircase, big fan of Stanford Whites designs!

We've been to 3 other mansions. So far, all 4 have been outstanding, each in its own way. Well worth price of admission. Audio tours always free & excellent. Keep your ticket stub: if you return within 1 year, the old tkt price gives you a discount on a new ticket!

The history of this "cottage" of the Gilded Age keeps the tour very intestering. Be sure to check it out.
