I can't tell you how aweful this thing is. It is an overpriced waste of time. The food was terrible, the service was terrible. The experience was just something that my wife and friends will talk about for years, but not in a good way. The ribs they claim are so great taste like they were from a frozen ziplocked... more

I love trains and thought that this combination of cozy journey along the scenic Rhode Island shore and cabaret music would make for a romantic evening with my wife. I guess that I should take part of the blame as we went in late October, and as the train departs at approx 6PM, you wind up spending most of the... more

At first everything seemed like it would be a nice night out with my wife. But as soon as we arrived, they crammed us into a parking lot blocking us by 4 other cars. Then we had to wait in line to board while the crew took photos of each group boarding the train. They later tried to sell it... more

We just returned from Newport, RI and went on the Newport Dinner Train. My husband and I attended the Friday evening Cabaret dining. We boarded the Train at 6pm and our waitress introduced herself as did the entertainer. They took cocktail orders so we could enjoy a drink before the train departed. Water with lemon was already on the table... more

Newport Dinner Train was a MAJOR disappointment. Paid the extra $25 for a "First Class" table and was promised a water view. Did NOT get the ocean side - so the view was primarily weeds and parking lots. Food very good. Service OK. Did I mention the TOILET backed up?? Well, the staff tackled the problem like they were used... more

We love dinner trains, so I booked this for our anniversary. We have a great picture of us smiling widely as we climb on. Later on my husband said they had to take the pictures before you got on the train, otherwise everyone would be frowning. Drinks: Warm Salad: Wilted Salmon: Inedible. Tasted fishy. crusted with seeds. Toppped with a... more

RESERVATIONS: Unlike some reviews on this site, we had no problem making reservations. The woman who answered seemed very courteous and helpful. COST: The price was high for what the trip was. We did the Cabaret Dining trip. The $56.95 per person trip cost about $127 for 2 with taxes, and fees (including a fuel surcharge that they didn’t mention... more

A few pointers - if you're a couple ask for a booth or else you get stuck in one of the side tables. You're treated as though you bought a discount ticket - don't get a bread basket but one roll and the waiters seem to wait attentively on those in the booths. Skip the cabaret carriage - the entertainer... more

Cost was high ($140) for 2 adults, 2 children. Did not include sodas or gratuity for an approx. total cost of $180. Food was horrible, scenery wasn't that great either, We went on Easter Sunday and the Easter "Bunny" had holes in his costumes so you could see his/her hands. Save your money and time, I wish I had, it... more
