This attraction is a short drive from the freeway up Pali Hwy. The grounds around the place are well kept and there is a small gift shop in the rear. The palace is relatively small but has some very beautiful furniture inside. After arriving there, one can readily see why she chose this place for a summer palace as it...

If you like nice little out of the way uncrowded attractions that offer a genuine glimpse into history then you must go here. On the way stop at the Royal Mausoleum and see it also. Beautiful home and the docent was terrific.
I took the city bus to the summer palace (number 55). Once there, you walk up the driveway to a pretty house. The docents are wonderful and are very personable. My favorite pieces of furniture were the baby crib and the baby grand piano. (If you play piano, you must visit the Summer palace, and have a piece memorized...)
Living on Oahu, we get visitors regularly and it’s always a great opportunity to enjoy the delights of this island we now call home. But in our nearly 6 years here, I had never been to Queen Emma’s Summer Palace. I had seen different events advertised that were being held there and always thought it would be interesting to attend...

Another historic building on Ohau with so many interesting stories behind it. The guides are great, have a lot of knowlewdge about the building and the people who have lived there, as well as involving the visitors in the tour.
Lovely little palace with heart-wrenching story. Knowledgable guides who were very kind to me. This is a great place to learn a bit more Hawaiian history while gazing at beautiful & historical objects.
Visiting this place rates as one of my all-time favorite experiences in Hawaii because I saw therein, a piece of my 2 son's heritage! They have a...

The grounds are well kept and the ladies who run the historical site have done a wonderful job preserving the locale and the history behind what occured there. I was surprised to find that the "palace," which would be an upscale house in the late Victorian era on the coastal United States, was moved from the U.S. to Hawaii for...

This was part of a tour I booked. My tour guide led us through the house. He was very informative! If he was not there to tell us about the house I don't think it would have been as enjoyable. I used Oahu Nature Tours.
Knowledgable guides, interesting decor and artifacts. Great historical retreat from the busy streets of Wakiki. If you have access to a car this is one of many places you can go on your own without paying for a tour package. Enjoy.
