The Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary was a gorgeous nonprofit ranch which gives tours to visit all of its different herds of wild horses and uses the funds to continue to care for these beautiful animals. We took the 2 hour bus tour and the guide, Roger, was extremely knowledgable about the area and the horses on the property. He... More

We booked the tbree hour and was luckly that the horses were out. They did a great job explaining the history, how the owner started. It is also a working cattle ranch and they truly love the horses and want them to have a place to live out the rest of their life. There are not any babies and they... More

I'd wanted to see the Wild Horse Sanctuary for years ... never knew when I'd get to South Dakota. But here we were so we HAD to go. It's a ways outside of Hot Springs and the day was crystal clear, cool & sunny. Arrived, met "Mark" our awesome tour guide & off we went in our little blue bus.... More

Unfortunately we arrived late in the afternoon after the last tour had left. We would not have gone anyway due to the $50 per person price tag. However as we drove the gravel road to the Sanctuary we saw a great number of the horses. At the gift shop / office we were welcome pleasantly by a very nice &... More

When I stumbled on the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary nearly 7 years ago, I had no idea that this 13,000 acre Eden filled with over 500 wild horses would change my life. I now volunteer every minute I have to spare and my camera has never taken more photos in any other place. Reserve your tour and no one... More

We drove all the way out to this place. The tours were outrageous in pricing. When we arrived we couldnt find anyone around to even talk to. We were able to see hrses along a fence line as we were leaving.

I visited the Wild Horse Sanctuary with my three teenage kids. We are not horse people, know very little about horses and...we loved it! Reservations: I made reservations 2 weeks in advance by phone for the short bus tour. We booked the 9:00 AM tour to avoid the hottest part of the day. When we arrived, there were so many... More
